Kusi Communications is a communications and development think tank. We help institutions turn complex ideas into trusted narratives, stronger partnerships, policy influence and meaningful social change.

We are a communications and development think tank that turns complex ideas into trusted narratives, partnerships, and policy influence.
20+ years of senior communications and policy leadership, with work spanning 35+ African countries.
We treat communication as a lever for real change (policy reform, partnerships, resource mobilization) rather than a standalone PR or visibility exercise.
Our Services

We combine strategic communication, policy engagement and knowledge to help organizations move beyond visibility and achieve outcomes that matter.

OUR VALUES | KUSI COMMUNICATIONS

Communication is not an end in itself. It is a force for transformation.

Evidence over assumption

We ground every strategy in research and political-economy insight, not guesswork about what will resonate.

Impact over visibility

We measure success by what changed policy shifted, partnerships formed, resources mobilized not by attention alone.

Rigor without losing people

We hold onto analytical precision while making ideas legible and persuasive to the audiences who need to act on them.

Local precision, continental scale

We combine pan-African reach with a genuine read on local politics, culture and context in every market we work in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions on our scope of work.

We work with development institutions, public-interest organizations, research bodies, government-adjacent bodies and enterprises operating in science, health, governance, climate, conservation, development and diplomacy.

No. We reject the view that communications is a standalone visibility exercise. We treat it as a lever for policy influence, partnerships and resource mobilization connected directly to institutional decisions, not separate from them.

We’re headquartered in Nairobi and have delivered assignments, partnerships and campaigns across 35+ African countries, combining pan-African scale with local political and cultural precision.

We follow a five-stage process: Diagnose, Design, Engage, Convert, Learn; starting with the outcome you need, then preparing the evidence and people, delivering the engagement, and tracking commitments afterward.

Both, and the overlap is the point. We combine strategic communications, policy advisory and advocacy, research and diagnostics, knowledge management, convening, and multimedia storytelling often across a single engagement.

Patterson Siema, Managing Consultant and Senior Director, Policy Engagement and Communications, leads engagements directly, drawing on a flexible network of specialist associates assembled for each assignment.
